Iqrar ul Hassan Stands in Contempt of Court

Are we surprised that Iqrar ul Hassan, who has practically popped several blood vessels in his head and neck screaming for every institution in Pakistan to take action against a philanthropist, religious healer with millions of followers, himself deliberately stands in contempt of court?

The Youtuber was on the verge of being fired from his long standing (starving?) job at ARY TV, had entered into his 3rd marriage and people had grown tired of his uncouth antics raiding tuck shops and police stations in far flung areas while crime raged in the bigger parts of the country. And suddenly he discovers that talking about Pakistan’s most famous religious and philanthropic personality Pir Haq Khatteb Hussain will get him a million views per video, per hour! Who cares if its defamatory content. Who cares if it is damaging the religious work Pir Haq Khatteb has been doing for the past 30 years.

And above all, who cares if the court has told him to stop immediately – that’s just content for another video. Which is exactly what this greedy, narcissistic Youtuber has done. We don’t have to go far, we’ve linked Iqrar ul Hassan’s video mocking both the Court Order and Pir Haq Khatteb Hussain for turning to the justice system (because what could be worse than doing anything lawfully?). Our only concern is, has Islamabad High Court and Justice Mian Muhammad Azhar really decided that they will allow such mockery of their courts?

Did Iqrar ul Hassan stop at this video? Did he stop publishing the content the court deemed as defamatory? Absolutely not. The law breaking has continued with impunity. Anyone with an iota of common sense that has actually suffered watching a few of Iqrar’s videos, and we have, will tell you that this is what sudo-journalism is all about. Senseless sensationalism, complete disregard for religious, legal, moral or ethical values all come together to give you have the average Youtube ‘journalist’ who will put anything online from his underage son, to his multiple marriages, to his obscenely lavish houses online. All for the clicks and view$.

Mocking Court Orders at 1:52 and 3:57

A pertinent question to Ministry of Interior Affairs of Pakistan, Auswaertiges Amt, UK Home Office and just about every other border control ministry about Iqrar ul Hassan – is a man who not only breaks the law in the name of journalism, relies on libel but additionally mocks the courts of the country that feeds him, is such a man safe to allow onto your soils? Do your law enforcement really have nothing else to do?
